My parents recently left me an old card board box that used to belong to my fathers uncle. It turned out this box contained a number of old ties that had belonged to him and had been both for daily use as well as some for more formal events.
When designing ties I rarely have the intention of creating retro-styled ties, but more often than not, the results are exactly that. Some designs was recently reviewed by a few older ladies (in their 70s). They noted that most of our tie designs could easily have been in their husbands or fathers wardrobes back in the 50's or 60's.
